I love porridge but the boys hate it whatever way I try! They love omelet made with our own eggs or breakfast pancakes for a treat - weekend breakfasts are our favorite - served at lunch time, with bacon, sausage, beans, mushrooms, eggs, croissants, toast......yum!

We love oatmeal here for breakfast, or it is eggs straight from the coop, usually poached on homemade honey oatmeal what toast. Thanks for sharing the variations on oatmeal and I will have to check out the cook book.

I do orange-cinnamon oatmeal. Either cut pieces of orange in and sprinkle with cinnamon, or just squeeze the orange in if too lazy to cut it up. Scrumptious. You've made me very curious of this book. Must check it out.

I used to just eat leftovers, but I love yogurt and fresh fruit. My husband's trying to integrate oatmeal in more though! I'll definitely think of your combinations, etc. Yum.

thos recipes sound delish. Think we'll try some of those, since one of my girls is not completely thrilled about oatmeal. She'd love the banana cinnamon. thanks for the link!

this is carrie, perhaps you could try cold oats. If you soak the oatmeal overnight in the fridge with apple juice and milk and then top it with some yogurt and grated apple (or other fruit) and some nuts. Maybe that would work. It is how we eat oats in the summer when it is just too hot to eat them warm.

I've been trying to get my kids to eat oatmeal for breakfast a few times a week and they hate it. So bummed. I even try it all sweet and delicious with brown sugar and fruit. I keep telling them it tastes like candy! Maybe it's the texture?

I love it and can't wait to try it new ways. That cookbook looks amazing!

Mary, trust me, I am not the poster child for time management, it's more like stuffing everything in to make sure it gets done, though a lot doesn't.

Lucy, you read my mind, pork and cider is next :)
